Mr Large Burrito - Forest Lake

Sad drab place, no maintenance. Sticky floor and every table was dirty, infact everything is dirty and sticky. Food was bland. Fryer and drink coolers were broke. Dirty window sills and blinds filled with spiders. Fountain drink machine was out of service. Interior lights were off. Broken tables and seating. Inside it was like 80° and humid. I'm assuming for cost savings. It's clear this once was a thriving restaurant and now has been neglected. If you can't keep your dining room clean it only makes me wonder what's going on in the kitchen and coolers.

This restaurant seems designed for suburban diners who might feel uneasy in areas known for great Mexican cuisine. We chose to visit based on positive reviews, but our experience was quite different. First, we waited 5 to 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When a staff member finally approached us, it felt like we were more of a nuisance than welcomed guests. Coming from Chicago, my expectations are higher than those of many Minnesotans. Basic things, like ensuring the women's restroom has a working toilet and greeting customers when they walk in, seemed to be overlooked in this establishment. I won’t be returning.

We had previously visited this restaurant and loved the burritos for their uniqueness. However, on our visit today, October 26th, with my family, our experience was completely different. The food was not as good as before, and we had concerns about cleanliness; everything felt dirty and sticky. The drink fountain was out of order, and the restroom was in a terrible state—both toilets were clogged with waste and paper towels. We really wanted to enjoy this place and its distinct offerings, but unfortunately, this will be our last time dining here. It's uncertain what has changed, but it seems like there might have been a change in ownership or management.
