Contribuiți la feedbackThis place is absolutely delightful! The menu is innovative, the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The vegan pot pie was bursting with flavor, and the fact that the espresso martinis could be made decaf was a nice touch. The pumpkin creme brulee was simply delicious. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
We had the lobster Papardelle and it was a tiny lobster tail on top of creamy overcooked noodles. The kung pao calamari was tasty, but greasy and a tiny portion. The short rib was strangely dry and overcooked. The bar was very pretty, the place used to be a pub I believe. The best thing was the music on Friday evening, it was not jazz but a suave latin band. The bandleader played the flute first then sang with a mellow voice. So not impressed by the food but a pretty place.
I regret not discovering this restaurant earlier. My friends and I began our meal with the Kung Pao calamari and Kobe meatballs, and we were very impressed by both. We also enjoyed the Braised Short Rib, which was incredibly delicious. We visited on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised by the Live Band that performed, adding to the fun atmosphere. The specialty cocktails were unique and the service throughout the entire evening was excellent.
The beet salad, scallop entree, and braised short rib entree were all delicious. The waitress suggested that the polenta fries, which come with the short ribs, are often not received well so I appreciated that she made other suggestions. Since I don't have an aversion to polenta, I stuck with the plate as noted on the menu. However, she was right the polenta side in the scallop entree is much better. It makes me wonder if they are planning to remove the polenta fries from the menu all together; they aren't terrible, but they don't live up to the rest of the food. The bananas foster dessert is presented nicely, with the flame being added at the table. However, that dessert was the downfall of the entire meal. The bananas weren't soft enough either because they weren't ripe or because they had been refrigerated they needed the flame to last much longer. The rum also needed more flame not enough alcohol burned off, yet there wasn't enough of the rum/sauce either. And the ice cream fell flat as well; it wasn't creamy, and it crumbled. The space and ambiance are lovely; it's fun to have not only instagrammable spots, but someone on staff happy to walk around with a photo light circle, and take photos with your own camera. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. I would go back, occasionally.
Drinks and service were pretty good. The food was hit and miss. Bruschetta was great, but chicken lollipops were prety bad. Burger was average at best, pasta was nice. Vegan ice cream is not a great substitutefor a real one, while banana cream Brule was nice.
