Gene's Bar Restaurant A.k.a. Poe's

Stopped in Gene's for lunch. Chili was great, the fries crispy and not greasy, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Fair priced meal and draft beer. Repeat visits for sure!

A few friends and I stopped in after hiking at the state park nearby for some lunch, and I think we made a great choice! This is a no-frills, laid-back diner (so don't expect anything super fancy or cushy) that concentrates its efforts on their food. The crab dip we ordered came with the perfect amount of soft pretzel bread and some saltine crackers, and their cheesesteaks were huge and delicious (both pictured)! Coming from the city, you definitely get a lot more food for what you pay, and everything we tried was well worth it. The staff and other patrons were all very friendly and gave great recommendations. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!

As local, redneck classy, and dang on small town as it gets. Food is delicious and cheap, beer is cold, and everything is a tad sticky (not really). We love going here multiple times a week!!! Especially shrimp night on Thursdays!

A guy threatened to kill me here! It was scary and I ran away but the food was bad too. Did I mention a guy threatened to kill me?! I dont know what bars you like to go to but if you want to have your life threatened then genes is your place. Also the food wasnt that good. I would go back.
