Al Borgo Dispensa Toscana

After some shopping in the Valdichiana Outlet, where del Borgo is situated in, we went for pizza at 6 pm. Knowing this is an odd time for Italians to eat, I politely asked in Italian if it was possible to eat at this time. “No problem”, was the reply by the waiter. Just for once, you Italians, if I am able to ask in Italian what I want, please respond in Italian. Your English is worse than my understanding of the Italian language ; On order: two pizze margherita and one pizza prosciutto e funghi. What came out of the oven was downright embarrassing! To us as guests, but mainly to all Italians working hard at their ovens to create wonderful pizzas. The bottom was so hard, you could break of a corner and actually hurt someone with it. The tomato was wet. The funghi was staring at me like it was asking me for forgiveness since it came out of a jar! Shiny mushrooms from a jar. What the ? Am I mistaking? Is this not Italy? I poked in a mushroom and water came out of it. Unbelievable and disgusting. Is this a new thing in Italy? A pizza slurpy? I didn’t ate a pizza, I almost drank it. Within 5 minutes after the pizzas were set on our table I went inside and paid the man. What for, I don’t know. I should have made a huge fuss about this, but for the 26 euros it hardly was worth the extra effort. And he didn’t seem happy at all, so I guess the owner of Del Borgo is to blame for buying disgusting ingredients and having his staff cook with them. I trust my money will go towards the Italian Fund Against Jarred Mushrooms. After this we went to Spizzico. The pizza equivalent of McD. Not great either (sorry, just Margheritas right now , but the taste is a lot better and you can actually eat a slice of pizza instead of nearly drinking one.

We had lunch with two pizzas, good, celery service, friendly staff but undersized, some extra person in staff I am convinced could increase the tourn over the tables. enough vote for pizza maker and service.

Excellent value for money, crispy but good pizza, good Tuscan appetizer. super friendly and professional staff. right prices, excellent compliance with anti covid standards. super recommended.

I left this place right now, located inside the valley! I've been with my mother and I have to say we're coming back! we ordered buffalo ravioli with tomatoes and pesto, a salad and a tiramisu: all good, including coffee! fast and efficient service!

We stopped sincerely a little quoted (we look for a fast meal), instead it was a real surprise. we tasted the pizzas, definitely good, sitting outdoors but the gallery offers a large sun shelter and is also on air. the tables are well spaced, very friendly staff and fast service. also the price absolutely honest, stop to add to the next visit.
