I was excited to try some authentic Mexican cuisine, but unfortunately, it was just average. I ordered lobster while the others in my party got tacos. The prices were fair and the service was friendly. The restaurant has two entrances, one leading to a bar area and the other to the casual dining section. Next time I visit Jackson Heights, I will probably opt to try a different restaurant.
Street parking, and it is a very difficult challenge here as they are located at a very busy street, however the subway is extremely close so taking the train is the best option. There are 2 restaurants and they are connected. They have different names, but coming in through either of them is fine. Quick service the waitress sat us and gave us menus super quick, she took drink orders quickly as well. pretty good I think. Menu with pics, that was very helpful I think cause I got to see some of the meals before I could decide to order. MOJITO- nice and strong. Amazing size drink. Has a lot of mint and that was pretty great ENCHILADA DE MOLE POBLANO- I got the enchiladas with cheese. The mole was pretty nice and spicy, spicier than I am used to but none the less pretty nice. I asked for a side of sour cream and it never came. I was sad about that course it could have helped with the spicy mole. The cheese in the mole was not all melted as well. FLAN- lots of vanilla extract and the texture was a little off. A lot less moist than I hoped but it tasted ok, nothing special really. I would pass it up. I was a bit disappointed. My friend also ordered some tacos that they forgot to bring and we had to ask for them again. the taco took a long time. So yes the initial service is pretty fast cause they sit you right away with menus and water but the follow up after the food comes out lacks a lot. The overall seems to be a ok. The place has a lot to improve as far as service follow up while food is on the table. The food was nice with large portions but the taste was very basic. Good place, not great.
In the way of cheap, quick eats in an authentic atmosphere, this place was great. I had the flautas, which were quite good.
Liked the tacos very much, had al pastor which was midly spicy juicy and had carnitas, which was good too.
