Contribuiți la feedbackI am a longtime patron of Redwood Steakhouse. My wife and I are now on a very tight budget. Only going out to dinner once a month. Last night I ordered the $40.99 Delmonico. I was anticipating a tender thick juicy medium rare steak. What I received was thin, about 1/2 , full of fat and tough like gristle. They had no chance at medium rare as I ordered. I was expecting something different from a high-end steakhouse. Food has declined, my last two steak experiences have not met my expectations. Especially the temperature of the steak.
Went for my brother's birthday. Have not been in a year, remembered it was a reasonable place. We started with a level of sticker shock on the prices I know everything is higher, but for $50+ steaks, I expect aged prime beef, not choice. And the bread that used to be complimentary is now $3. But we ordered various appetizers, entrees, etc. and the food was OK not great, just OK. Certainly not commensurate with the price. The service was A level, prompt checking and removal of used dishes. But then we came to the payment part. We had a gift card but were told it would not be honored because the ownership or something changed. Really, that is the attitude? You had the opportunity to do a great customer relations moment, but you wanted to stiff a customer the $75 that someone had bothered to get as a gift for a family member? So, you get this review. And you get one family less as customers, ever.
I had dinner and a beer flight here with my brother and son. We were seated promptly right after opening (4p). I had the fillet Oscar with mashed potatoes and the Redwood salad. The salad was unique that I chose to have with ranch on the side. I wish it would have been chilled more. The fillets were 4 ounces each with both being very good but one was more tender than the other. Crab cakes were tasty but thin. I also thought for the price they should offer a baked potato and not just mashed. Overall, I thought the meal was very good. The flight were six 6 ounce samples that the price varied on the type you selected. Most were average with 2 being good. My brother enjoyed his fish and chips along with my son saying his burger was good. Large parking lot with a lodge theme. Flat top and bar seating. Cloth napkins. Excellent service. Pricey. The entree was very good but not excellent and with those prices they really need to set the bar to have returning customers. I probably would not return due to the price point.
Group of 25 of us came in with reservations. We were jammed into a table with barely any room to cut our food. It was not that busy they could have spread us out more. Food was okay. The one plus was our server was great very professional and knowledgeable thank you to her.
The greet staff are very friendly. We were seated promptly. I really love the open and airy ambience. Our server Kevin was awesome. He was helpful with the menu which is extensive. He checked on us frequently but not annoyingly so. I had the filet mignon(medium) which was quite tender and tasty. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were really good. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely dine there again.
