Mad Mary's Steak House - Flandreau

This restaurant is a genuine steakhouse, with the steak taking center stage. My brother-in-law ordered the prime rib and claimed it was the best he has ever had! I completely agree!

Steak was prepared perfectly. Waitress was attentive. My second time here and will definitely be back.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend ordering the walleye. When it arrived, it was slimy, and they didn't mention that it came with the skin on, which wouldn't be an issue if it were cooked correctly. Unfortunately, it was far from good, and it was also filled with bones. It's typical to find a bone or two in walleye, but I pulled out at least 25 bones or more.

The prime rib had good flavor, but it was only lukewarm when it was served. A hot au jus would have made a difference. We were there for a birthday party in their party room downstairs, so I can understand that there might have been some challenges. Several ribeyes were sent back because they were undercooked. The baked potatoes were hot, at least. I've dined here many times with smaller groups and have always had a great experience, so this was unexpected. They definitely need to improve their service for large groups. Our waitress was excellent, though I didn’t catch her name.

An excellent discovery in a quaint little town! From the moment we arrived, we experienced fantastic service and stunning views of the river! We visited several times during our stay, and every meal was incredible! They have a great selection of beers, including some craft options. Do yourself a favor and visit MAD MARY'S—you won't regret it!
