La Capannina - FIUMICINO

We booked a table for 6 adults and 5 children aged 2 to 7. As it took a while for all the dishes to come, the children got bored and got up from the table. The restaurant was almost completely empty. We asked them to play in a corner in which there was no-one, so they would not disturb the restaurant staff. They were giggling and playing happily in the corner. We were waiting for our coffees when the owner of the restaurant approached us and asked us to keep the children seated at the table saying that our daughters “were being disrespectful of the other clients”. We told him that there was nobody there and that the children were also customers who should not be treated that way. He then stated that we should let them outside and that “we had a low level of education”. Our group was composed entirely by diplomatic officials who have lived and travel all over the world. We have never seen such an appalling treatment by a restaurant owner!
