Gustavino Piazza Signoria - Firenze

Come away from the main piazza's and you can find some great traditional places. This is one. Came here after some research, booked and was delighted. Ate standard stuff Bruchetta, caprese, Wild boar pappardelle and a spectacular spicy pasta, bottle of Chianti and dinner was done. Attentive service, generous portions and tasty food. A winner.

Such a lovely place to go to. Very local and delicious food. The staff is well prepared and so friendly. Very central, close to plaza signoria.

At first, I looked askance at this place, especially because of its location (too near the Piazza della Signoria) and the TV. But the food was terrific, the service excellent, and our server seemed to respond to our enthusiasm for the food--not the typical traveler's experience, especially in tourist-ridden Florence. We had a couple of the simpler dishes--pasta with mushrooms, for instance--and everything was letter-perfect, including the excellent, inexpensive glass of Chianti. Would recommend.

New Year's Eve with my girlfriend we opted for the 70€ menu that provided: -antipasto toscanox2 -fiorentina and contour -dolce and coffee food overall good: abundant appetizer with meats and cheeses of good quality and sweet Florentine even if not just 1,2kg as instead previewed. negative note the contours of poor quality (burned vegetables and frozen potatoes.) bad wine. 22€ half bottle of hot served chianti. fast and rude service, which also answers inappropriate questions. Last but not least, my girlfriend and I booked a couple of days before and we spent the day leaving the deposit. on both occasions we specified the intolerance to the lactose of her and for two times we have ensured that the menu could be adapted; On the other hand, in the appetizer only meats were served and when we asked an alternative to dessert for example fruit and we were answered that it was not available (the 70€ but were paid whole.

Excellent the first, very kind staff. every year we return and it is always a guarantee! to try absolutely local typical and well maintained.
