Contribuiți la feedbackWe have visited the dining room four times in the last two months. our first visit was to lunch, then to an early evening meal, for the third time to a Sunday birthday, and finally, today, to a meal from the festive menu. were absolutely great. the lunch and early evening menu is the same, but there is a separate lunch menu on Sunday as well as the current fest menu above. Instead of going into each detail of each teller, I have to say that up to now every single plate that was ordered was excellent. there were no complaints even with consideration of different tastes and ages of the guests. the prices are slightly higher than the average kirkcaldy bar lunch menus, but every single penny and more worth. just to order and eat something else is an absolute blessing. the quality of the ingredients and preparation and presentation are also roads before what is normally offered in these parts. the service is attentive, welcoming and friendly, without transfer or obsequious. the owners and their employees earn in the did a high praise for the creation of such oasis in kirkcaldy's culinary desert. we'll eat here regularly as long as we can. Finally, for those who eat here for the first time, they try the house made Scotch egg starter. it's wonderful!
Visited with a group of friends for Christmas dinner. Food was mediocre at best. Starter of mushroom risotto was like soupy rice with stock cube and truffle flavour. Main course veg some overcooked and some under cooked. Horseradish dumpling with beef was like glutinous...slime. Service was ok but any negative comments seemed to be ignored. The restaurant wasn’t busy so the kitchen staff could have done better.
From start to finish Barry and Andrew couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating for our group of friends! They helped make a special occasion a really memorable one and all our friends were delighted. Thank you also to your team who looked after us...so well too. We all left contended with the delicious meals and look forward to similar gatherings in the future.
When we got in the taxi from the station and mentioned to the cab driver he was taking us to The Dining Room we were suitably reassured when he said you 'll do well there excellent food . He wasn 't wrong. We were warmly welcomed...by Barry and taken to our table in a very smart looking alcove. The decor brings a relaxed ambience into the eating experience, and we settled in very quickly. We had a three course lunch and ate very well indeed. Chicken parfait to start for both, wonderfully smooth and with warm bread portion size was bang on, just enough to preamble into the main. A great start. The main was definitely the highlight as it should be). A wonderful chicken supreme packed with Mediterranean flavours, and we got a wide variety of sides included inthe price) to compliment the main, including potato two ways! Being a carb aficionado I was pleasantly suprised. Dessert was equally satisfying, the caramel ice cream I had was smooth and generously portioned. My partner had the tiramasu, creamy, substantial and not drowned in masala wine as many are. By the end of a leisurely lunch we were very happy indeed. A word on the service attentive but not intrusive. At no point did we feel we were being rushed through, Barry and Jackie were excellent throughout. Often, you feel like you 're being bundled through a service certainly isn 't the case at The Dining Room, I found the service genuinely sincere and warm. We would recommend The Dining Room unreservedly.
Our second visit to The Dining Room was even better than the first, with the warm and friendly welcome, excellent food, good service and ambience. Thank you to the team for giving us another very enjoyable evening. If you haven’t tried this restaurant yet, it’s...well worth a visit!
