O Portao' - Ferreira Do Alentejo

I was passing through town, I am not even sure what the name of the town is, and it was time to have a meal. Using Goggle maps I found a restaurant with a 4.6 ratings and saw that the maps would help me with a booking. 10 minutes later I was seated and ready order. I don 't speak Portuguese so when I asked in Portuguese if the the gentleman in charge spoke English, he dolefully said a little bit. In fact, his English was quite good. He explained the menu options to me in English and steered towards the tender slow cooked young goat dish. It was as good as suckling lamb in Spain. The wine was superb, and the dessert, Nuts Cake was moist and delicious. This restaurant exceeded my hopes. I wish Dio the proprietor well.

Very good Alentejano cousine, very good service and ambience. When you pass by Ferreira don 't miss the oportunity of visiting O Portão , you 'll love it !!!
