The Griz Bar - Fernie

Good service and drink selection for après ski. Can get crowded but has a number of good tables for large groups. We also like the pepperoni flat bread.

We had eaten here a few times on this trip. Very friendly and great services. It is family friendly! They have board games for you and the kids. Price is fair. I was a little disapointed in the steak sandwich but I am from Alberta so I guess I like more meat! lol

After venturing into town the first two nights of our stay, we gave the Griz a shot. Was impressed that they mixed a proper whiskey sour instead of just using bar lime, mmmm. Food was decent, we had the fish and hips special, it was filling, good tartar sauce. Would recommend.

We went to this bar a couple of times while skiing at Fernie. Its an older bar that is showing its age. Seems pretty popular just the same. It is decorated with old ski photos and some old ski equipment. It did have live entertainment on Saturday starting at 3pm I think and the talent wasn't too bad.The food choices are pretty much the same as the cafeteria just below the bar. Mostly burgers and such. The service was decent. Nothing else really outstanding about the place though.

Between here and Rusty Edge are my two choices for Apres drinks. Normally live music going on by the bar on a Friday/Saturday night. Beers are pretty cheap here by resort standards. And the deck is fantastic on the bluebird days.
