Cedar River Seafood - Fernandina Beach

The servers were the best! I have a gluten sensitivity. My waitress listened and made the best suggestions. While I am aware there is a risk of cross contamination, they did their best to accommodate me. They went above and beyond! Shrimp was delicious. Sweet potato was great. And the service was even better! Kept drinks topped off all the time. Great atmosphere!

I have been dining at Cedar River for years and have never had a bad meal. I especially enjoy their large fried oysters, coleslaw, and baked potato.

I had a very good experience at Cedar River Seafood in Fernandina Beach, Florida. I ordered the fried flounder with a baked potato topped with chives and bacon for an additional 50 cents each. The portion size was generous in my opinion. The baked beans were good, but I wish they were a bit thicker. I enjoyed the fried fish, but next time I think I'll try it grilled. The hush puppies had too many onions for my taste, but I appreciated the addition of a piece of toasted bread. My water was served ice cold, and my waitress checked in on me throughout my meal. The total cost for my 11am to 4pm lunch was $11.50 for the meal, $1.00 for the bacon and chives, 88 cents for state tax, totaling $13.38. I left a $3.00 tip for my waitress and plan to return to Cedar River Seafood in the near future.

My family ate there while on vacation. The food was just mediocre at best.

I’ll try to explain my experience without being ugly. If you like food that comes from a Piccadilly or cafeteria then you will like the food I had. I got the Captain’s platter. Sides had no flavor. Piece of fish that was blackened looked more like fish jerky. Deviled crab tasted like it came from a frozen box from Sam’s warehouse. Scallops undercooked. At least the fried green tomatoes were decent. Tables too close together. Over all I felt elt like I could have got the same or better food at Captain D’s but was twice as expensive. Was a miss for me.
