Contribuiți la feedbackThis is such a delightful place hidden away in a small lane. I attended here for dinner on a Thursday night and we were only one of two tables. This actually really surprised me after eating their food, but I suppose the location may have contributed to it. It's a tapas place so you get small meals to share. The food was delicious. You would need about four dishes for two people and I thought the price was fairly reasonable for where it is.
A quick search on Zomato with a filter for good ratings vegetarian food and within walking distance from Grosvenor Street – and we found Vintage Café as one of the option and decided to go for it.Not a bad choice – It is nice little restaurant Nurses Walk – with small tables and wooden verandah. I laid back ambience and good food. I reckon as all of us (5 of them) ordered different foods and each one of us liked it. I ordered Mediterranean Salad and it was delicious. Crispy greens mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, Asparagus, olives, caramelized onion topped with feta cheese). I also shared a slice of vegetarian pizza with my colleague and we both agreed that it was good). Dessert and Coffee were not tried. Chilled beer in a balmy sunny afternoon and good food with a laid back ambience – what else you expect from a leisurely lunch? .
I had planned to go somewhere else for lunch, but stumbled across this little place along the Nurse’s Walk in The Rocks. The small tables along narrow wooden verandah and a man playing and singing along to his acoustic guitar enticed me to walk about the steps and sit down at a table. <br/ <br/ Their menu has a selection of simple and tasty dishes, but it was their blackboard special of wild salmon with potatoes and a glass of house wine for $30 that caught my eye. It seemed like a good deal and I was after something simple but tasty after having walked the streets for the last few hours. <br/ <br/ What came out was a clean dish nicely arranged in stack and some buttery sauce around the dish The fish was cooked perfectly and was succulent melt in the mouth; a pure delight. The potatoes were also wonderful, probably the best I have had in a long while. Seasoned nicely with moist centres. The sauce was simple, but gave the whole dish a lovely buttery balance. It all went well with the Sauvignon Blanc. <br/ <br/ I must say it was a very memorable meal sitting on the verandah listening to the beautiful relaxing music while enjoying people watching. I would definitely recommend this place.
The hot clay vegetarian breakfast went down a treat. Served in a terracotta ramekin, it's a stodgy affair of baked beans, spinach, asparagus, onion, a little chilli and poached eggs.
Expensive, but a nice place to be.. We only ordered sandwiches at $17 each there not cheap... but sitting out on the skinny deck in the back streets of the rocks... We through it was worth it. Can understand others finding it expensive
