One of the best bakeries in the inner west and locals seem to agree.Came here one rainy morning to pick up a coffee and got distracted by their desserts and along with the coffee picked up a pear crumble tart which worked itself into my morning tea repertoire, or more like, made an excuse for it.Their breakfast here is also quite good but rather limited which can be a good thing, because you'd expect them to be good at it, and they are. Truth be known, i prefer their baked goods than their cooked breakfast.
Really delicious rhubarb tart! Probably one of the best I've had!<br/ <br/ The chocolate pistachio cake was too sweet and a bit too sticky, I couldn't taste the pistachio. <br/
Just a door or two along from the Village Bakery is Bowan Island bakery, which is well known across Sydney for its breads. The bakery cafe has a big range of prepared sandwiches, rolls and cakes. I opted for a fruit mince pie, one of my favourite xmas foods. Another good bakery choice.
Great service. Great food. Great coffee. Best black coffee I've had in ages (most places have sour bitter black coffee). <br/ <br/ The staff were lovely and service was quick.
What Bowan Island offers is simple, comforting food at its best while Copo Café delivers the memorable twists of simple beloved dishes.
