I have to say I’m quite impressed with this restaurant and its prices. I ordered the pulled lamb salad, and while the dinner menu was somewhat limited, my partner thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. The service was excellent, and the coffee was spot on. It’s also a nice bonus that Will and Co. is a bit hard to find in this area.
The portion sizes at Bakehouse Cafe are generous, making it excellent value for money. I particularly loved the Philly steak roll, where the rump steak was sliced thin instead of being served whole, making it easy to chew. The combination of steak, bacon, relish, and cheese created a truly satisfying meal, not to mention the Bakehouse fries which were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also tried the chicken scrambled egg roll, which was delicious, featuring pieces of grilled chicken breast atop moist scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms. The filling was quite generous; however, I would have preferred a little less sauce drizzled over both rolls. I'm definitely planning to come back for the Panko prawns prosciutto pita pocket. The Japanese-style prawns were cooked to perfection, with a crunchy coating and sweet, tender meat. Additionally, they serve great coffee and have a selection of beautiful cakes. I highly recommend trying the hazelnut meringue (a mini version of Choc Rock) and the pear sponge roll, which features fluffy sponge cake with light cream and pear pieces in the center.
Decor is lovely and bright and love the flowers at the front. I tried various dishes for brunch and favourites would have to be the fish and chips avocado burger. There's plenty of desserts. So many choices that it was hard to pick one. They were all nice so I couldn't pick a favourite. Really good coffees and my friends tried the freakshakes too. Overall a good place for coffee cake, or brunch with friends.
Spacious, clean and comfortable, the Bakehouse located inside Canterbury Leagues Club is open 24/7 for your dining pleasure. There’s a nice choice of bistro menu food like burgers, sandwiches and salads, plus a wide array of desserts. We had the Angus beef burger and a barramundi burger special as well as drinks and a mezze plate. I particularly enjoyed the fish burger which was nicely seasoned and served in a soft bun.
