Matt's Fish Camp Fenwick

I had lunch there with two friends, one of them uses a walker. The host saw us coming up the ramp and came outside to open the door for us. I really appreciated this. He showed us to a table not far from the door. Our server was friendly, explained all the specials, and checked back with us. Two of us ordered scallops with mushroom risotto and the other ordered fish tacos. We all enjoyed our entrees. Dessert offerings sounded yummy but I was full. Our request for separate checks was not a problem. Winter specials are being featured now (late February). There happy hour specials at the bar. I did not have a cocktail but there were interesting looking drink specials.Wheelchair accessibility: A ramp leads up to the door. Staff opened the door for us.

Me and my family went for my nana’s birthday about a week or so ago because when she visited in the spring she really enjoyed her time here (and she is a very particular woman). It’s very clean and bright inside. They were playing The Zombies over the speakers when we came in (enjoyed that). I got the lobster roll and it was so good, a lot of lobster meat. My nana likes to invent her own meal (I’m very sorry) which is a bed of greens with lobster salad (for a lobster roll) on top and they were very accommodating. I believe the manager came to check on us which was nice and our server (Maddy/Maddie) was very polite and sweet even when my Gramps and Dad were both telling her the check NEEDED to go to them. I appreciate her handling that. I’m a server too and I know the emotional turmoil. I wish the best of success to you all.

We were a party of 4 dining at Matt’s last night. I’ve enjoyed many meals at Matt’s in Bethany and Lewes but this was my first time at Fenwick. I have to say that I was quite disappointed. I ordered the lobster roll and it was pretty puny and the lobster meat was nearly minced. There were virtually no chunks of meat. I have ordered this multiple times before and it usually has big chunks of lobster meat. Another member of our party ordered the fried shrimp and it wasn’t up to par either. The batter was heavier and not the light, fluffy fried shrimp that is more typical at Matt’s. My husband got the spinach beet salad and said it was absolutely drowning in vinegar. He also said the beets weren’t very good. 3 out of 4 in our party we’re pretty disappointed. It certainly wasn’t the Matt’s standard that I am used to and would expect to be the same at each location.

The lobster rolls and crabby fries. And they have their own in house pastry chef. Just amazing.
