Wasabi Sushi And Asian Grill - Fargo

Wasabi is truly my favorite restaurant in Fargo. Over the past decade, my husband and I have enjoyed everything this place has to offer and consider the owners part of our family. We first discovered Wasabi Drunken Noodle and Slurp when they were under one roof before they moved from NP Ave to their current location in Broadway Square. I’ve always asked them to create a custom roll for me, and they’ve affectionately named it the “Elma Roll,” which my kids always find amusing. The family that runs this restaurant is absolutely wonderful. If you’re in search of quality sushi, noodles, or pho, make sure to visit one of these three establishments—you won’t be disappointed! The Elma Roll features tempura salmon with asparagus and cream cheese, topped with sweet eel sauce and spicy mayo. Update: 10/29/21 - Still the best sushi spot in town!

The food was quite good, but the prices were a little off-putting—without that, I would have given it a full five stars! We spent $50 for two meals, two beers, and a tip, which felt excessive, especially considering it’s a cafeteria-style ordering system like Subway's. The tipping situation was the main drawback for me. Tipping when you have to queue up to order your food and clean off your own table doesn’t seem appropriate. Usually, I tip when it's warranted, but I only give a few dollars for situations like this unless it's expected. In this case, I ended up tipping 20%, but I don't think that should be necessary unless waitstaff are taking care of your table. If the cooks and staff behind the counter aren’t compensated fairly, that’s something for the restaurant to address. While I can’t speak to how well the staff is treated, I will say they were all friendly.

I'm absolutely in love with this restaurant! The sushi is fantastic, the prices are just right, and the staff is wonderful. I've had the same server each time I've visited, and he is incredibly kind. I definitely prefer Wasabi over any other sushi spot in the area!

The Poké bowls that they serve there are SUPER delicious! It's kind of like having sushi, except unwrapped and served in a bowl. They're surprisingly filling, but a little on the spendy side. That aside, the staff are friendly and do a good job at upselling, and the front area is always clean when I go. Since this place doubles as an eat-in restaurant, I wish (from a business prospective) that they put more emphasis on the restaurant side. When you first walk through the door, it's hard to tell that there's an actual restaurant inside of there as well. The place where they sell the poké bowls outshines the restaurant entrance even though it's right there in front of you when you walk in. Anyhow, as for the poké bowl side, I'd recommend

OMG!! Blown away by the quality of their sushi! Also the edamame was great, with a spin compared to usual ones! They have combos, like a regular and a special roll for just 17 usd! Try this place if you are in downtown Fargo!
