Contribuiți la feedbackPleasant ambience with a warm welcome. The small plates starters were mixed. 4 small prawns with garlic were hugely overpriced. Amazingly they had run out of mushrooms. My hake was lovely but was served in a very bland watery sauce containing undercooked potatoes. The main course mussels looked rather good and apparently tasted so. Not cheap so no tip left.
Brought our son who is over from Oz for a roast and was completely underwhelmed by the roast. Undercooked roast potato two small plates of veg for 4 of us with just enough cauliflower cheese for one and a complete foul up of my wifes vegetarian dish. Thin gravy too!!!!! Puddings were ridiculously small. So many friends who live in the village recommended us but boy oh boy was this disappointing.
We were regular customers over a period of 7 years but food quality started to become quite hit and miss. However the service has always been excellent. We decided to give it another try on Tuesday Pie mash) night but wished we hadn’t bothered! We decided to try a couple of small starters, my husband ordered calamari and I opted for mini Camembert/ chutney. These starters were not reflective of the price £7.25 each) as when they arrived there was only 3 calamari rings and the Cheese was hard to find under the herb crust which was not mentioned on the menu. There was more chutney and one slice of baguette which tasted stale. The waitress was very professional and acknowledged our issue and agreed to take off our bill. Unfortunately things didn’t get much better as When my chicken mushroom pie arrived which did look delicious turned out to be undercooked. The pie was nice and brown on top but raw underneath which was a real shame. The chicken also looked processed with very little taste. The mash and gravy was very tasty and the fish pie my husband had was also very good. I know hospitality currently has lots of obstacles due to increased costs but food quality is a must if they want returning customers. Again the service was excellent and Jess our waitress dealt with our issues promptly and this was reflected in our final bill.
Well priced and great food. We took friends there and it was a very good choice. I would recommend it to anybody. The reason I chose it was that they take dogs!
I organised a party of 14 for Christmas dinner. The pre selected food was very good with some nice touches added into the menu (bonne Bouche etc. . The tables were nicely decorated and the service was excellent on a busy night for the staff. All in all great evening and made even better by the great range of real ales available.
