Contribuiți la feedbackDefinitely worth the hype! Yep, this place is the real deal and the pies are epic. We had the steak and cheese (the best we tried all trip! and the pork belly and apple pie was also really good. It had a piece of crackling on top of the pie a real treat and tasted like a roast dinner in a pie! Kids loved their blueberry muffin, super fresh and fluffy. Coffee was just ok but you come for the pies! Delish!
The food is to die for, I couldn't decide as it all looked so scrumptious.I live in Australia so I cant see myself going back there any time soon, which is such a shame : I would love to experience this bakery again, absolutely 5 stars hands down
Their food are so good! Their famous pie is pork belly, but I highly recommend vegan pie as well, the filling is lentils, it taste so good!! You must give it a try! Other than pie, their pastry also taste perfect, their almond croissant is my top one!!! I will stop everytime for purchase when i pass by.
Fairlie Bake House Pork belly pie Taste Rating Review The pie had a crispy layer of pork skin on top! While New Zealand pork often has a distinct taste, it wasn’t noticeable here. Combined with its flavorful filling, the pork, seasoned with black pepper, was simple yet quite memorable. Steak pie Taste Rating Review The filling was rich, but it didn’t have a standout factor. I believe anyone in New Zealand has heard of this pie shop! Today, I finally got to visit. I originally wanted to order the Salmon pie, highly recommended by a friend, but was told it would take an additional 20-30 minutes, so I opted for the Steak pie recommended by the staff. It was just alright
Oh the Fairlie Bakery!!! What a find. We discovered it on a holiday to the South Island and have seriously thought about going back from Taranaki just to visit the bakery, and have discussed as a family if we could get something couriered up for a birthday. Lol. The pies were so much better than anything I've had in years amazing crispy light pastry and real meat and gravy not the shredded gloop that is the standard fare in N.I. and the cream bun was just like I remember as a child in the 70's and haven't had since a texture quite unlike the bread buns that are filled with cream these days. Keep up the amazing work guys a real gem. Come and open another shop in Taranaki please!!!!
