The Cider House - Fairfield

I love the location , the views are like Ireland and the sunsets the best in Iowa ! The food is top gourmet quality !The staff is amazing so friendly and natural . The drink and beverage options are very complete and always super delicious the cider has won gold metals in New York City and the burgers voted Best in Iowa for meat lovers and vegetarians And the. Building is beautiful , such a great feeling just to hang out !

Burgers were outstanding! I think the cows were out back! The ciders were not what I expected and were a bit bitter and flat and we tried several. The clientele were loud and boisterous and there were lots of children there which I thought was odd for a bar type place. We had a high top table next to the door where it was difficult to eat peacefully. They really could use expansion! Over all the food was the most noteworthy thing!

Wow a jewell.. somebody said hamburger not. They are not obviously Iowan!! Grew up here had great burgers ... this is one! Had tge blue cheese one and the meat was authentic ground chuck maybe great taste . Perfect! Had shrimp and green beans first both delicious. The shrimp juice I could have poured on my burger yummy!! The liquor and beer selection top notch great selection and ones I had not heard of thoroughly enjoyed and great service to boot. Hurry because I think they are selling out... hope who ever buys can keep at same level! Overall very impressed!!

Our son, a chef, was home recently and chose The Cider House as our destination for dinner. My first impression of the little house was how small and cozy it appeared but there wasn't any handicap access and I couldn't have made it up the stairs without my guys. It was a Thursday evening about 7 and we got a table right away but they were steadily busy. The old guy and I ordered the Classic Cheeseburger and Son chose The Smokehouse. I don't think I've ever had such a delicious burger as that Classic. I think it was the beef that made the difference. Juicy and so flavorful! We will be returning.

Unimpressive ! Burger meat was ok. The bun fell apart...soggy and nasty. Touted as best burger in Iowa. Not! Filling Station in Yarmouth much better. Central Standard in Bettendorf definitely better. Service was fine. Won't return. Waste of money. $9 burger at best.
