Il Pellicano - Fairfield

I visited this relatively new restaurant for the first time on a quiet Sunday evening, which meant no crowds and no noise. The menu was quite appealing; I heard the cacio e pepe was excellent. I found the creative twist on chicken saltimbocca amusing, as it used all the traditional ingredients but arranged them differently on the plate. The calamari appetizer was excellent, and the Caesar salads were enormous—next time we’ll just share one. A heads-up from the waitstaff would have been appreciated. The wine list was good, and my negroni cocktail was delightful. We didn’t sample any desserts. If you visit on a quiet night, try to secure a table by the fireplace; we did and it was wonderful. The restaurant is much larger than it appears and absolutely stunning.

Incredible meal and exceptional service! The restaurant was bustling, but the food and service were both excellent. The branzino was outstanding! I will definitely return!

The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was good. The strip steak was just alright, but I keep in mind that it's an Italian restaurant. The salad was average, and the shrimp scampi was also decent. Given the prices, I expected the food to be either delicious or spectacular. Despite that, we would consider coming back.

Owner and service staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was wonderful. We all loved what we ordered.
