Friar Tuck's Hoagie House - Fairbanks

The food and service at this restaurant are excellent! The sandwiches are overflowing with meat, so much so that we couldn't even finish them. The staff is friendly and polite.

Wife and I ordered food to go. I had the Babe 's with steak which was excellent. My wife had a Cobb salad with chicken which was poor with very dry chicken, plus they forgot the egg. Hence the inconsistent title to the review. The wait wasn 't exceptionally long and my sandwich was worth it, but the salad definitely wasn 't. At over $41 for a sandwich and salad it was an expensive lunch. Not sure whether I 'd go back. Part of me says yes, but I 'm struggling to be overly enthusiastic about it. If we did then we 'd probably do dine-in next time!

The food was great and the service ok. Keeana the hostess/waitress was setting outside using fbombs with her friends. She asked our waitress if she was needed inside. Not the language I expect at a public place.

In this area, receiving 5 stars does not necessarily mean it is exceptional. Rather, it simply signifies that it is better than other places nearby. The main downside to this restaurant is the high prices, which seem excessive for the quality of food. While the dishes are tasty, this could be due to the lack of better options in the area. The chef salad was enjoyable, with a good balance of toppings to lettuce. The Cuban sandwich was delicious, with the perfect ratio of meat to sauce, and the spicy mustard was exceptional. Overall, the food is good, but the pricing may not align with expectations.

My wife, adult son and I had lunch at this restaurant because it was conveniently located near my hotel. The food was unique compared to other sandwich places I have tried, as they use short hoagie rolls similar to pita pockets. The chicken salad I ordered was delicious. There were multiple TVs broadcasting NHL games during our visit, and they offered a variety of local and Alaskan beers. This would be a great spot to watch a game with friends.
