Exeter Exeter (m5, Jn 29) Brewers Fayre

I stayed at the Premier Inn for an overnight stopover. While a number of menu items were unavailable, the food we did order was expertly cooked, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Craig and the other bartender were fantastic and handled the pressure really well. It seems the challenge lies more with the customers and their patience, as the small team is working hard. I would definitely return.

The food was not good at all, and the portion sizes were quite small. By the time we ordered, many items on the menu were unavailable, so I ended up choosing the gammon, only to find out they didn't have any pineapple to go with it.

Service was ok to good, but the cooked food was average at best. Example. I asked for some fresh eggs as the two left were leathery, old and inedible in my opinion. Chef duly brought some new ones then proceeded to place the old ones back on the top without checking to see if these were edible and presentable. I totally understand that it's self service and a buffet but serving decent food and having pride in presentation of said food isn't too much to ask from the chef. It is how job after all. Which is why I'm giving 2 stars. Came for the food, left with an less than average experience.

Stay at the Premier Inn next door for two nights. So this restaurant uses for dinner. Quality was 100% I had the mixed grill both nights, all cooking to perfection. Would say a big thank you to Paul that he was so helpful in the second night with my team and made sure we had our food. (we worked late and did not know if we were back for the last food order). Will be back.

Nice food today at the brewing farewell. Food very tasty, service excellent, restaurant very clean,music not too loud second visit in two weeks. will be back soon
