Smith Island Bakery - Ewell

The cake arrived in perfect condition. It was incredibly moist, and the boiled fudge frosting was absolutely delightful. What sets this cake apart from other Smith Island cakes is the unique boiled fudge frosting, along with the fact that it is made on Smith Island by locals who carry the rich history of the island. Just to clarify, this is Smith Island Bakery, not Smith Island Backfirma. Both bakeries offer great cakes, but I believe this one truly stands out. I highly recommend trying the cakes from Smith Island Bakery located in Ewell, MD.

We took a boat ride to Smith Island and docked at the Bakery. Darren and his family were incredibly welcoming! They assisted us in renting a golf cart and even helped us get crabs for dinner. The cake was outstanding. We brought back four for our friends and family. We really enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter and the chocolate cake, but the lemon and orange flavors were even better! The coconut was a delightful surprise as well! I think an orange cake topped with chocolate icing would be an intriguing combination! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Wow! If you’re looking for the best cake in Maryland, Smith Island Bakery is the spot to visit. The staff is fantastic, and their products are exceptional. They also showcase local artists in their shop. I highly recommend stopping by for a delightful treat. Thank you for the delicious cake!

Great place. Friendly staff and delicious cakes! They even sell local handmade jewelry, soaps and art pieces.

What a little gem! We tried Smith Island cake from a couple of different places during our trip and theirs was by far the best! (Chocolate covered strawberry and blueberry cream... yum! . Such a nice family that was so nice and helpful with suggestions for our weekend too!
