This restaurant does not need any more positive rating, but they deserve it. Eat here if you are creative, well prepared, delicious food. Stuffed Calamari are very difficult to get to the right when overcooked, they become hard, shrink and burst, but not here. The roasted Caesar salad was with what I enjoyed in Italy. The pizza was perfect and delicious. Wines are interesting and cheap. The waiting staff are also friendly and attentive. No wonder the restaurant humiliated on Thursday night.
Must-try: Piazza. Top rated Italian restaurant in Eureka. Overall great culinary experience with very friendly service in a beautiful city. Started with Wild Mushroom Cobbler, we have Piazza and Steak as the most important dishes. They are both delicious and piazza taste particularly amazing with simple components. My friend ordered ice cream for dessert. I tried black chocolate truffles with duck fat. It has a bit of salt on its top, while the truffle itself is not rich in taste of the duck.
Excellent grilled / fired and other specialties, great use of local foods such as mushrooms. A sweet, red-colored interior provides an intimate experience when touching the loud side that is anyway hep. Good wine pairings and creative desserts. Service was subtle and excellent. Definitely a must visit, a top selection in Eureka.
Clean plates say it all! And I'm not ashamed to say we enjoyed appetizers and dessert too. We started with the Mushroom Cobbler which was the main draw for us and it did not disappoint in the slightest. Obviously we were expecting something savory but this was just magic. We also did the Study of Wild Mushrooms and though they didn't compare the cobbler, they were still quite good. For entrees my boyfriend had the Fettina Steak and I went with the Polenta Lasagna. I was somewhat disappointed that the menu had changed from what I saw online and the dish I wanted was no longer available (the rockfish sounded amazing) but both entrees were great. The potatoes au gratin that came with the steak were a showstopper. I don't think I've ever seen my fella dive into a dish containing dairy with such reckless abandon and I'm happy to say neither of us regretted it. That tells me this place uses top quality ingredients because the cheap stuff gives him the bloats. For dessert we did the seasonal ice cream (cabernet flavor) and cookies with a single Irish Cream truffle. The ice cream was perfection and I'd be in trouble if it was available by the pint. The only criticism I have, and it's not really, is that this place is pretty small. We were very fortunate that we arrived shortly after they opened and they had a table available. However, I will say that the size seemed like the perfect balance between kitchen staff and patrons. Nobody waited long for their food and it was a room full of smiles. Reservations recommended.
