The Wald Restaurant 222 is a brasserie located at the gates of the long boulevard north of the Eifel Park, between Eupen and Rontgen. The interior look is contemporary, elegant and spacious, but only in places . And here some critical evaluation issues begin: While on the one hand the internal appearance hints at almost gourmet establishments, on the table there is a double-sided placemat filled with sponsors as a menu, typical of establishments with a simpler layout. The service is present, conducted in a competent manner, even if they do not speak any language other than French and German. The food on the other hand is nothing special when compared with the aesthetic selling of the place. I chose two Frikadelle, a little too dry, while the other diners two Hamburger Sandwiches with a rather sinister appearance, but with a taste that, at least according to what they said, was acceptable. The meal ends with a classic waffle, the best dish among the courses. The bill, if we take into account what was taken, is decidedly expensive and outside the parameters found in the area with similar experiences. In short, this Wald Restaurant, which had intrigued us from the outside, turned out to be below our expectations. A place that plays at being a gourmet without succeeding.

Dishes are basic and yet expensive. Long enough service (2 hours apéro plat and desserts still not served) . the room should be improved in terms of soundproofing to avoid ambient noise, because already the full half, we could not hear as much the discussions of some tables were strong even at the other end. conclusion: I do not advise.
