Log Haven And Lounge - Errol

I want to start by mentioning that my family has owned a property in Errol for 40 years, and we've always enjoyed visiting Log Haven for a nice meal or a quick lunch during our outdoor adventures. However, two years ago, my friends and I stopped by after a day of riding, expecting to spend a good amount of money. While some of us went in to use the restroom, the rest were outside cleaning up. The owner came out and started yelling at those outside, assuming we were only there to use the bathroom. He even took photos of our vehicle registrations and threatened to call the police. When we clarified that we were there to eat and drink, he remained furious, told us we were not welcome, and insisted we leave. I will never return, and I will recommend that anyone I know steer clear of this establishment. For a business that depends on tourism, their customer service is seriously lacking. Avoid it!

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to after today’s visit. When we arrived, we found a room filled with eager, hungry snowmobilers waiting for food—most of them without drinks—on a holiday weekend. The tables were cluttered with dirty dishes from previous customers, and there were hardly any staff members to be found. When I finally managed to get the attention of one of the two staff members who appeared (let's call her the RUDE lady), I asked how long the wait would be. She snapped back, “10 minutes, but I can’t promise you anything.” We eventually placed our order—a burger with elk and a turkey club. When our food arrived, we were unsure if it had been prepared correctly. The elk burger tasted more like beef, and since I had never tried elk before, I couldn’t be sure. The turkey club came as a wrap, which made us suspect they were out of bread (and it seemed they were running low on just about everything). With no staff around to ask, we went ahead and ate it anyway. Here’s the kicker: as we were leaving, the RUDE lady remarked, “You guys DO know you ate the wrong meal, right? Who eats something they didn’t even order?” She laughed and didn’t offer any compensation or apology for their mistake, just walked away. Her primary responsibility is to be a waitress—serving food and providing good customer service—which she clearly fails at. Based on the other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who has noticed this issue...

The owners were rude and shouted at customers! The food was quite disappointing. We ordered sandwiches with French fries, which were undercooked. The fries were cold and tasted like they were frozen. We will definitely not return! When we tried to discuss our concerns with the owner, we were told to leave and were yelled at!

As for the campground facilities, there was no firewood available, at least during the times when campers were actually back at the site. My group stayed for four days, and throughout that time, the bathrooms were never cleaned, there was no soap at the sinks, and the trash was never emptied. Regarding the restaurant, its hours were very limited. Even with a nearly full campground, the restaurant was hardly open, which seems like a missed opportunity to capitalize on the busy weekend. I believe this place has great potential, so I would like to make an offer to help turn it into a true destination. Additionally, there was a lack of signage on the trails to help guide us, indicating poor marketing. Overall, it seems the current owners are not interested in owning this establishment anymore.

We have visited this restaurant several times, and while it has always been convenient, it has never truly impressed us. On one occasion, we attempted to dine there on a Sunday, but arrived too close to closing time and were turned away. Another time, we went for lunch on a Saturday, and the waitress shouted at us while we were waiting to be seated, stating that she was too busy for us to expect any service. Most recently, we stopped by with a group of 18 adults and 3 young children during a ride. The owner was remarkably rude, treating our entire group with disrespect. The service was terrible, and the food was equally disappointing. We will not be returning.
