Azteca - Erie

Azteca used to be amazing, but the food quality has declined. Perhaps they are short-staffed. Hopefully, it will improve soon.

I typically don't gravitate towards Mexican cuisine, but I must say, Azteca in Erie exceeded my expectations. The food is incredibly fresh and handmade, and the family that owns and operates the restaurant is exceptionally hospitable.

The restaurant offers authentic cuisine in a family-friendly atmosphere, with delicious margaritas and attentive servers.

We sat at our table for nearly 30 min before ever being approached for drink orders. We waited another 30 min for our drinks to even arrive, most of which were not good tasting. Proceeded to wait yet another 30 min before simply placing a food order, we had to chase down the chips/salsa waitress who ended up checking on us more often than our actual waitress. One of my friends politely asked to have her margarita removed from the tab, the waitress rolled her eyes and told us she would take it off. When we went to pay, we looked at the receipt and the margarita she told us she took off the receipt was STILL on the tab. We asked her to remove it AGAIN, and she rolled her eyes and ended up taking one of the other margartias off the tab, not the correct one. WILL NEVER be coming back here, such terrible customer service.
