Axe Compass - Epping Forest

My wife and I have visited the Axe on several occasions. We have never been disappointed, the food and the service has always been first class.

We visited here quite a few times now. We randomly come across this on google. It’s a lovely little pub and the food is amazing. We didn’t book and was welcomed in and found us a table straight away and this was on a Saturday. I would recommend to book though. Especially if u are going for Sunday lunch.

We enjoyed our pub lunch at the Axe between Christmas and New Year. The staff were friendly and the food perfect after a long walk.

We visited the Axe Compass and this place is a little gem. Great staff beautiful food. Recommend.

Arrived without a booking and had excellent lunch for two adults and one child. 2for1 roasts lovely topside, brilliant gravy, tasty roast potatoes. Child’s meal for £1. Very good value.
