This should be a given, for food safety, but I was thinking I may have to ask them to switch gloves since they were rolling sushi with fish when we got there, but they put a clean pair immediately. Several vegan bases for your bowl, like udon, rice, chopped greens, sweet potato, or vegetables. Ramen has egg One protein options: organic tofu Most of the veggies, toppings and sauces are vegan, but ask before getting since there 's no clear vegan label Not sure about any of the premade options, but I made a bowl of: Tofu, udon, spinach, edamame, peanuts, crispy onions, sesame seeds and curry sauce. Can recommend the combo. Could have used a bit more curry sauce. Maybe ask for extra Colorado chain (now also in Arizona and Texas) Tables where clean
This location is usually great. I'm not sure if they have someone new in there but yikes. I ordered a super simple joes roll and a cookie. When I received my sushi, it had so much rice packed together, it was like a brick. I wasn't sure if they remembered the other ingredients (shrimp, avocado and cream cheese) I found the avocado, it was brown. I tried to shove a piece in my mouth but the amount of rice around the roll was so excessive I could barely bite into it. I tried to remove over half the rice but that didn't help. I threw both my orders away. At least I had a cookie. Unwrapped it to find it crumble out of the wrapping. Perfect. Another thing in the trash.
I don't know what is, this location consistently fails to deliver a Tokyo Joes quality meal. The lack of of meat veggies in my bowl really draws attention to the balls of overcooked noodles at the bottom. 5 minutes south on Chester St there is another Joes location with much better quality and service.
I mean it's a chain and most of the time you will get decent food at a Tokyo Joe's. I have been to many locations before. The Sushi is decent I wish they wouldn't use so much rice cause that's all you can taste and had more options or maybe just better ingredients. I do love their Poke Bowls!! Sushi grade Salmon and Tuna and they are super delicious! I have been coming to this location for their Poke Bowls, I feel like they give more Salmon/Tuna here and the portion is a bit bigger. I would recommend the Salmon Poke with brown rice, their Hawaiian sauce which is amazing with cucumber, avocado and pineapple with Japanese, green onions and chili flakes if you like it spiceeeey.... The service here is fast even on busy days but you can order online now as well if you can't wait.
Love this place! It's been here forever and we just found it AGAIN. Try the dark chicken bowl with veggies! The regular bowl is plenty of food and it's not terribly expensive. Around $7-$9 with some extras on it. My kids like the Ramen bowl, but be sure to ask for it plain because it comes with a bunch of weird veggies if you don't. I recommend getting their Tokyo Joe's card because you get a free entree after registering online. Not buy one, get one... FREE all by itself!!! The staff is always friendly and the place is really clean. They bus the tables, too. It's healthy and tastes GREAT even for picky little kid eaters. Paid and ordered online last night and just walked in and grabbed our order. Super easy. LOVE IT!!!
