Country Hound - Englewood

Fast and efficient service, happy to replace menu items and switch over comparable things, no extra charge. The staff knew my mother by name and was always kind. Food is classic good fat spoons and they have amazing sweet tea. And sweet dogs on the wall! We had the chicken and cheese chick and the eggs Benedict.

The food here was incredible. None of us even touched the salt and pepper! The decor is enchanting, and the creamer placed on small dog bowls was a cute touch. We'll come back before our trip ends!

This is the type of place that your mother used to take you to 30 or 40 years ago in small towns where the cooks knew how to cook. My wife was astounded at the quality of the salmon lunch he had and I had for the second time the sliced roast beef over bread with gravy and mashed potatoes it was that good. The prices are reasonable for going out and they have a very good selection on the menu of other items as well as daily specials. I have to say the server was excellent as well these ladies work very hard and a tough environment. When we visit Englewood Florida again we are sure to come back five stars.

Nothing spectacular. Hometown type cafe. Menu has a beautiful variety. Eating is good. Table, stand and counter seat. Beer available. Hot coffee and hot tea. Dog theme everywhere.

I'm going to build up their assessment here. We visited all our local restaurants. Country Hound is definitely in our top 3 breakfast places in Englewood. Very fresh, good quality, legit Southern Breakfast. Great service and beautiful surroundings. Who rated that? They're from the base...
