Tasquinha Alentejana - Elvas

Service has improved since the last time I was there but the quality of the food has not. Entrecosto was mostly bones and fat.

This place has an outside terrace where dogs are definitely not welcome. We were sent off in an unfriendly matter.

Pretty decent traditional food served in a no frills joint at reasonable prices. Service was friendly and efficient. I would have given it a better rating for decent food and good value for money... but! When I was asked how everything was I told the...waitress that the cod dish contained no cod. Her response was that if I wanted to complain, then I should have done so before eating. I wasn't complaining, just answering her question. If she didn't want to hear the truth, then she should not ask. The person who had the cod dish was a child. Not exactly someone who would be able to tell, nevertheless complain. Being cheated by staff who is rude when you tell them is enough to make me overlook anything good the restaurant might have.

Visited on a very hot august day, for lunch, Food was average, on the por side (typical soups lacked many usual ingredients) and they had background folklore music blasting from a hidden stereo that gave you headaches. Service was indifferent. We stayed inside and discovered...the place is ill ventilated, smelling somewah of stale food. I thought it expensive for the price.

We stopped here for lunch. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming but the food was poor. The restaurant was very quiet but when our food arrived it was cold, the serving plate the food was presented on was cold, as was the dinner plate....The Migas with coriander was gritty...the coriander had obviously not been washed, so as well as cold it was inedible.
