The City Arms - Elmbridge

The restaurant serves delicious food in a timely manner. Despite being situated on a busy road, its location by the river is fantastic.

This is truly one of the best curries I have ever had. The homemade curry is served with a delicious popadom and naan bread. The staff are extremely friendly and polite. Despite working just 2 minutes away from this restaurant for 5 years, I had never been in before. I will definitely be visiting more often after this fantastic experience!

The sun is shining and having not long moved into near by area, I stopped to have a bottle of wine in the sun. At first 4 people behind the bar looked manic and disorganised for a very empty pub. I waited whilst a bald gentleman who was in the middle of a conversation with 2 patrons to at the least acknowledge me, he never did.Even though he saw me walk in. 2 younger female bar members ignored also. I guess taking a leaf from the male. After one of the female bar staff was flustered about the Pepsi foaming up as another member of staff advised they had just changed it. The older of the 3 females who had done this change, was bubbly, smiling and acknowledged I was waiting to be served at an empty bar. I’m not looking for handstands when I walk into a a bar but a simply hello would be suffice. This certainly won’t be my new local and judging by the lack of customers I can see why.
