Bosun Joe's - Ellisville

We ordered the catfish, and it was just alright. The collard greens seemed to be from a can, and the French fries tasted like they were frozen. The service, however, was excellent. Given that our lunch cost $35, I expected a higher quality meal and was left feeling unimpressed.

Absolutely delicious! I loved the turnips and the hush puppies. Our server was fantastic, and that Cajun pasta with the little crawfish was amazing! Plus, they’re located in the historic Hotel Alice, so be sure to visit. This place is a must-try if you’re in Jones County!

The food was enjoyable, but the service left a lot to be desired. It took over 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Although the waitress was pleasant, she seemed to forget about us.

I had the pork chop dinner. The chop was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes with gravy was very good in my opinion. The dinner roll was fresh and the texture was perfect. However the turnip greens were overcooked. It's as if they hadbeen simmering for hours. Service was good except for being given sweet tea when I asked for unsweetened tea because I amdiabetic but that is a constant issue in the South. Overall, I do plan to eat here again as the food and service is aboveaverage.
