Christopher - Ellisburg

This restaurant was highly recommended by a local critic, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The food lacked creativity and flavor; it was poorly executed. My entree came with fresh tomatoes, but I recognize that it's February 14 and not the best time for tomatoes. If the only option is white tomatoes, it's better to exclude them from the dish entirely. Both entrees featured shrimp, which were frozen. My dinner companion ordered scampi with a cream sauce, but classic scampi is not typically cream-based and usually includes more than just six frozen shrimp. The acclaimed clam chowder was overly flavored with nutmeg, making it taste more like perfume than seafood. With entrees averaging $25, the prices felt exorbitant for such lackluster food. While the staff was excellent, the ambiance left much to be desired. Save your money and opt for a chain restaurant like Fridays instead!

On Saturday night, we visited Christopher's using our entertainment card for the first time. It's a beautiful place, but I ordered the crab cakes and they arrived cold. To make matters worse, there was barely any crab meat in them—just a lot of filler. I wasn't very impressed with the dinner overall and I don't think I'll be returning.
