Uma Uma - Ellicott City

I absolutely love ramen—it's probably my favorite dish in the entire world. I've sampled every ramen restaurant downtown, so when I walked into Uma Uma, I expected another decent bowl of ramen, but I wasn't too excited about it. The menu offers only three types of ramen, so I decided to take a chance and ordered their Shoyu ramen without eggs. The aroma was incredible, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The scallions and bean sprouts had a delightful crunch, and the noodles were perfectly cooked—not soggy at all and definitely not the taste of something that had been sitting out for weeks, as is the case in many other places. Every component was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I even ordered some to go! I couldn't resist trying their green tea mochi as well. The presentation was so impressive that I felt almost guilty for eating it, but it tasted just as good as it looked. Uma Uma is quite a drive for me—about 25 minutes to be exact—but it was absolutely worth it. And the best part? The best ramen I've ever had was only $10 a bowl, while everywhere else charges at least $13! I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much, Uma Uma! Keep up the fantastic work!

This was our first visit to Uma Uma, and it completely surpassed our expectations! Everything was fantastic—the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We will definitely be returning, and it won’t be long before we do. I highly recommend it. 10/10!

I dined at Uma Uma for the first time tonight, thanks to a recommendation from my future tattoo artist, and it was incredible! The staff were attentive, friendly, and truly wonderful. The food was fantastic and highly customizable, offering a wide array of flavors and fresh ingredients. I ordered the shio bowl without mushrooms but added corn and bok choy, selecting a spice level of 2. It was even more impressive how accommodating they were to the service dog in our group. I'm thrilled to have found this place and can't wait to return!

Had a lot of consideration for first-timers and one in the group that had allergies. The head chef (and owner, I believe? had come out to make sure and talk through the menu to figure out what could be eaten. The food was absolutely amazing- everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. Everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly and absolutely helpful. Huge tip- TRY THE CHEESECAKE. Thank you for a truly memorable time for my first bowl of ramen. The tomato tonkatsu was to die for and I can't wait to get back to the area again!

I come and eat here every weekend, I love the food that much. I'm a particular fan of the spicy miso ramen (level 4) and the green tea mochi ice cream. The chefs and staff work hard to ensure that the meals are wonderful and to your liking. They are all very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant tends to get very busy very quickly. The restaurant is new, so please bear this in mind while the staff works out an established rhythm for service and attention.
