BEST STREET TACOS IN ELLENSBURG!! ok, they're similar to the tacos served at the other various mexican food trucks in town. BUT BETTER!! Bigger than the others, number one. The tortillas used here are 5 inches in diameter, not just 3 inches like all the rest. And number two... They are filled with ingredients!! LOTS of fresh moist meat, right out of the stew pot and right to the griddle. Lots of everything you'd expect, including cheese and a drizzle of a warm red or green sauce from a large hot vat, which the other trucks dont do. The loaded tortillas are toasted on the griddle until they just start to char and are then quickly removed just before they get too well done. They are not just lightly toasted, they are grilled!! This gives them a crispness and a crunch that is so good!! Im a big guy, 6 feet 2 and 280 pounds and three of them stuffed me. SO satisfying and absolutely delicious!! Only drawback is its located in a run down parking lot of another establishment which makes parking difficult at times and doesnt do much for its curb appeal. But thats it. Highly recommend!!
Genesis Churros is hands down the best birria tacoNorth of the border. I drive miles just to eat Naomi's tacos! I first came across her tasty tacos tamales and churros at the Roslyn Farmers market in Roslyn Washington and after finding out that she also had a little stand in Ellensburg, I realized that I just needed to hop into my Jeep to enjoy a plate of amazing tacos!Naomi is a wonderful person with a heart warming smile. Her and her family will make you feel welcomed and they are gracious and wonderful.I LOVE Genesis Churros!
I tried to get food on Tuesday, but no one was there. I showed up before their posted closing time but they must have closed early. I went today and there was no tamales ready. They would not be ready for another 30-60 minutes. The guy tried to sell me three tacos and a horchata for $20?! I couldn’t believe the price. I ended up paying $10 for 2 mediocre tacos. One taco the meat was almost all fat. The other was fine. I don’t think it’s a good value at all…
I am leaving 5 stars even though we were under the impression that ten tacos would be 20 or so dollars because thats what it says on their website. We were charged 50 dollars. I've never paid 50 dollars for tacos before so that price is steep. The tacos were amazing, and the chef is very nice and gave us churros for free. I'm just sad that I had to pay so much, because we're poor. We just wanted a treat but not for that much. We didnt want to be rude and say no we wont pay 50, because the chef is a hard worker, he and his wife are very kind. I just wish the website and their stand had a sign that said 50 dollars for ten tacos. But either way the food was really good. Next time we want to get tamales:)I don't feel bad for spending so much except that I'm broke now, but I also understand we need to support small businesses. This review isnt to be rude, or try to hurt your business. I hope your business thrives and grows
