Taverna Sunset Balcony - Ελλάδα

We visited this taverna in Zia for the second time and were once again impressed. The view from the restaurant is stunning and makes for a perfect end to the day. We ordered two Gyros dishes, which were delicious. The meat was well-seasoned, tender, and the portion size was very satisfying for the price. The menu from our previous visit in 2021 had not changed, and we also enjoyed a Greek salad, extra pita bread, and extra tzatziki with our meal. The tzatziki was flavorful and refreshing, with a generous amount of garlic. The warm pita bread was topped with Greek spices, adding to the overall experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even offering us Mastiha (Greek schnapps) as a gesture of gratitude, and giving our son a scoop of ice cream. We love the atmosphere, food, and service at this taverna and look forward to returning on our holiday next year.

After the hike on the Dikeos, we were looking forward to a snack because we weren't expecting a sunset at the end of October and with clouds. Unfortunately the Greek yogurt was out a shame! But the fresh organ juice was delicious! The atmosphere there is very nice, but I had imagined a “Sunset Balcony” facing directly towards the sunset, not at an angle to it, so that you had to go to the end to take a photo and then you could “only” see half of the sunset.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and very reasonably priced. The view is superb, especially during sunset in June, July, or August. The staff is very kid-friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our youngest, who ordered a Sprite but received a local spa lemon soda instead. The drink was surprisingly tasty, and when the waiter tried the orange version and liked it, the child received it for free as a sample. The service was excellent. We dined in for dinner.

We were able to reserve the table an hour before sunset , since we were there in mid-October, we couldn't really see the sunset because the sun had disappeared behind the mountain, which was a shame . The food was mediocre, only 1 of 3 dishes was tasty (the pork with potatoes and groats), there was too much béchamel sauce in the moussaka and the steak was too thin to be prepared medium. The homemade lemonade was nothing special and a bit overpriced at €4. The service was friendly. Parking: At the village entrance on the right, free. Wheelchair accessibility: Rather difficult because it is so high up in the mountains.
