Small town Iowa bar offers a a piece of Americana that you love about the Midwest. In the north Iowa town of Elkader. Offers a selection of local beers and good menu selection of tasty comfort food. I had through Reuben with fries which was excellent and very filling. Take time to stroll thru the town historic district and enjoy the river views, gift shops, and old town 4 story Hotel converted to consignment shops. Be sure to visit Virgi at Pedretti's Bakery , select a fresh baked pastry, bread loaf, or cookie and chat a while with Virginia about local history. Kid-friendliness: Through kids will love the life size Star Wars characters on display.
