Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a beautiful looking restaurant, lovely ambience and friendly, attentive service. Unfortunately the risotto was pretty much inedible slop, with an overpowering tangy taste, and somehow gritty at the same time. I was really hungry so ate half of it, especially since I paid an outrageous $38 for a dish made of rice and pumpkin, but honestly it was enough to turn your stomach with some revolting gooey white stuff on top. The 'salad ' was literally just a few leaves with unexciting dressing. Very, very poor, actually can 't remember when I had a worse meal.
We had the Sunday chicken roast special and entree was the kingfish. Our meal was absolutely perfectly cooked and the sauce was sublime. The waiters were so attentive and came in right on cue as if they could read our mind. Honestly the best service and food we’ve had for quite some time and we were even given complimentary mandarin granita and an aperitif. You should definitely try Bistro Rex as it’s well worth it. Thanks for a perfect night out.
PROS -very conveniently located near our apartment -very very good Chardonnay recommendation -delicious entree- BBQ octopus plus brocoli -nice friendly service CONS -entrees were COLD but second time they were HOT -no spicy sauces avaible other than Tabasco
We visited bistro Rex 6 years ago when they first opened in 2017. It was so amazing we dined there at least twice. Living in America and returning to Sydney this month, our first restaurant of choice was Bistro Rex. We were seated in a corner next to the wine racks, we had a reservation and told they were mostly booked but obviously there were tables that were available throughout the entire time we were there. The food was generally average My chicken was very salty and my partner's duck was bland. The server was not terribly attentive and failed to tell us that therr were any specials. We won't come back to Bistro Rex again and hope that others have had a more positive experience but honestly would not recommend it.
