Visited for the first time in many years and was really surprised by how friendly the owners are. It is rare to get such a friendly greeting when entering pubs in my experience. The local customers were also very friendly and chatty. Shame there is no local decent craft beer so opted for a cider. Will definitely return when they are open on weekends! We love The King Rufus. The toasted sandwiches are gorgeous and the ploughman's tasty and filling. Good selection of drinks, alcoholic and mixers. Nice coffee too! Mike and Cat are always welcoming. An unusual, unique and cosy pub. We visited on a Sunday and had the delicious Ploughmans while local act Daughters of Davis were playing. Drinks selection here is very good as were the prices....it was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and we had a lovely time. A hidden gem. We went to a private function, couldnt fault the staff all very friendly and a lovely place to hire on a Saturday night to have a get together, I think the maximum number of guests is 50.
