Taqueria Chapala - Elgin

I would rate this restaurant a 2 out of 5. The food is good, but the young staff have bad attitudes. They made a mistake with our order and were not willing to correct it without a hassle. The cashier even rolled her eyes and acted rudely when I pointed out the error. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I won't be returning. Make sure to double check your order before leaving, as they may try to pass off errors as a ploy for a free meal.

The service at this restaurant was quick and the food was amazing. We only spent 20 minutes here and we were already done eating. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Thank you, Young!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. It was so unprofessional. When I placed my order, I clearly stated that I wanted everything on the side. However, when they brought the food, everything was mixed together. I had to ask my father to take the food back and they charged us an extra 3 dollars for a paper container to put everything on the side. They even told my father that it was our fault. We will never go back, as this is not how they should treat their customers.

Large Mexican kitchen, friendly service, cheap prices. what is not to like.

This restaurant handed my husband and I a bill for $52.00+ this morning for 2 plates of chicken chilaquilas with green sauce and rice and beans. The menu price was $14.99 each, not $23.99. The restaurant said it was not a mistake and pointed to their tiny menu asterisks that said they could adjust prices due to market fluctuation. I negotiated a price of $16.99 per plate and told them to call the police if they wanted $52.00+. There was about one cup of dry chicken pieces on each plate, but they are trying to upcharge $9.00 per plate.
