Silver Lake Chinese - Elgin

This is my new favourite restaurant! the food and service was excellent. I recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, and huge quantities of it! food: 5/5

If it wasn't for the really good waiter, I would have given them two stars.I find most restaurant food of not particularlyGood quality,The food I gotDidn't evenQualify as that.But at least they cooked the living bejesus out of it.After eating there,Then I read the reviews,AndIt seems to me that this placeIs extremely hit or miss,Or a lot of people eat out a lot ,so don't know what good food really tasted like.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight and later in the evening we have been feeling SO SICK from our meal here. Had the crab Rangoons that felt like they were just warmed up because they were not crispy nor did they taste fresh. My girlfriend had the sesame chicken entree and I had the orange chicken entree. Both dishes were luke warm when they came out. The past three times we’ve eaten at this Silver Lake location, it has been extremely disappointing and unappetizing. Not to mention our dinner was $65 tonight for the two of us and to receive our food prepared in such a fashion is BS. I won’t be back to this location ever again…

When it comes to the Chinese cuisine, I have the unfortunate inability to say whether someone has a really authentic taste at the meals they serve. but I know what I like. I have lived in chicago for the half of my life and visited some places in china town. they have all reached half and exceeded expectations. another place called wings in cicero il. but when I moved to elgin, I found a majority of the food missing in both taste and portion size. unfortunately this place has the same problem. don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere and the staff are just as fantastic, but I’m going with chan’s garden.

Best shrimp spicy fried rice from any Chinese restaurant. I requested a family member order this dish to be catered at an event recently, and it was a crowd favorite. I have been coming to Silver Lake for 15 years, and I have never been disappointed.
