Contribuiți la feedbackI love this incredible spot to get fresh, local beers on draft to enjoy in the beer garden or by the bonfire. Alan and Breanne, the owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about beer. They are happy to provide you with a recommendation that will suityour taste. They offer howlers and growers of beers to go or pick up a bomber or six pack of beer to go.
Great selection on the beaten path. come in and discover a new favourite beer! great live music spot. dog-friendly!
Large beer garden, the dog is friendly. highly recommended. they have a good choice of beer, including options for German beer lovers. in summer they also have live music.
A bee with my cucumber to try this place. the barist asked to see id and said I am not 21 although I am actually 22. I gave him my military ID for a safe check, he muted under his breath about me and gave it back. which great customer service lol
Can I give more than 5 stars? plank road tap room is the best bar in the suburbs, hills down! prtr offers a stellar rotation local brew and great craft beer from all over the country (and beyond) and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. there is always a beautiful variety. pils, lagers, ipas, sour, stouts, porters, colsch, ales, caussy, etc. if beer is not her ding or if they only want a change of tempos, they have a nice selection of weeps, apfel wines and craft cocktails; the old fashion is my favorite! my wife and I have been going into the prtr since their opening in 2013 and are proud to count us among the masters. in the course of the years prtr has grown so strong and developed. the hahnraum itself has a cozy, comfortable lodge feeling; it's an old log cabin, finally. the terrace and the garden area are really untouched; if we're there, it feels like we're on vacation! the lounge pod offers a unique, private, VIP-like experience. our favorite spot is however her veranda, so a relaxing way to enjoy a great beer! during the pandemic, prtr showed so much resistance, endurance, flexibility and ingenuity. navigating all phases, reducing and not, they moved to a bottle shop and craftsmanship beer zu-go business model, added countless fireplaces to the beer garden for the winter and cool evenings, started a fast, comfortable, contactless ordering system, opened and heated their pole shade, and created a walking and snow experience. as someone who raised more on the side of the intention, I felt comfortable and safe with all COVID security protocols that followed/implemented them and was so glad that I could continue to support prtr. it really became our goal in 2020. have I mentioned food trucks? How about live music events? prtr has often waited some of the best food trucks to serve them: the argonaut, fork’n’fry, el zorro, ace, the roaming hog, chuck’s, biker dude burgers, taco madre, the list goes on. for live music, their music in the garden concert series shows some amazing local talents: make it a double, jimmy marquis, one man goer band, chicago hot five, new vintage strings .and so many more. also the travel and brow tours are really cool. we also love all pairings (wine cheese, charcuterie, doughnuts bier, etc. and yoga events. elgin needs more of it! the staff and the Betender/Cicerone(s) are so friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. tom, melissa, andy, matt, john (and any other I missed) will take care of you. the owners, breanne alan, are all around great people and true friends who are deeply interested in their customers and their community. we have so much luck in our neighbourship prtr to have! best people. best beer. best beergarten in illinois. the best bar in the suburbs. best music spot in the suburbs. 10/10.
