Contribuiți la feedbackWe had the pho and asked her vegan. the aromen simply didn't work. it was like they just pulled the meat and subbed random veggies. it tasted.
We went to pho tres bien express and had an unfavorable experience (address below), hopefully other stalls are different. we went to a Sunday night. 6205, 4309 fred wilson ave, el paso, tx 79904 when we came in, we asked about their vegan options and the coworker said this is the only one' and showed us a picture of an salat and she said we could remove the meat. there were summer rolls with tofu on the platinum behind her, so there were obviously other options (we are not a fan of summer rolls.) we asked for another article and asked if it had fish sauce in it. she seemed confused by the question and replied that we could get fish sauce on the side. it seemed as if the employee felt that our asking were a bit angry. they had no actual menu to check, but a photobook and some listed items on the chalkboard behind the counter. it didn't seem like the HappyCow description. Maybe if we have another employee who was more knowledgeable or maybe if we went to another place, it would be better not safe. the experience led us to emigrate and look for alternative vegan options.
Not many dedicated vegan foods in El Paso, so when I saw a vegan section on their menu on Uber Eats, I was encouraged to give it a try. I'm scared. The fresh spring roll uses deep-fried tofu, which was in thick pieces, the type of defeated the purpose, it was a fresh spring roll. The taste was a little off I think because the tofu was overly flavored, not again in line with the fresh spring roll concept. I asked if the Mayo left the Banh mi Tofu sandwich and was told that it was otherwise vegan, although it was not on the vegan menu. The bread had no crust (keys to a good Banh mi and seemed to buy, but the sandwich was different. I'm probably spoiled by Vietnamese restaurants on the west coast. Finally, I was usually satisfied with the lemongrass tofu dish that you can get over rice or pasta or both. Very tasteful and a huge portion, but on the fat side. (See photo.
We come here often, today 05/08/2023 @4:40 pm. I walked in with my husband and son. The hostess (blonde skinny girl with no bra on) , who I am assuming is the hostess since she didn’t bother to greet us or acknowledge us, turned her back when we came in. The guy behind the bar counter is the one who greeted us and asked us how many. I said 4, again the “hostess” grabs menus and just walked away. Didn’t look at us, didn’t say anything at all. “I asked do we follow you?” she turned and looked at us and said yeah like I was d Then when she realized I got upset because clearly I didn’t come here to read anyone’s mind, she made a face, put the menus on the table and walked away again and say nothing. Not even, a server will be right with you. This is the first time we have been treated like this here and it’s sad how much this place has gone down. They never have what we order. They are always “out of it”. Sunny’s is our new go to place. Where a manager actually comes and checks on the table. George who was our server was amazing. He should find somewhere else to work. The three stars is because of him.
All i can say is wow, I waited almost an hour for a doordash order!! Only 2 items, I showed up before a party of 3 and they received there food first before i even got the order. The guy kept telling me 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes, and never showed up till i went back there. Definitely made me feel as if I didn’t matter. Definitely wont be eating or dashing from this place anytime soon. Absolutely horrible.
