Contribuiți la feedbackI'm not local, but my husband is. We're here for vacation and he said we should try. I'm glad we left. It was great. He ordered Machaca and I got the Cowboyburger (Chili on the Burger). The service was impeccable. Clean toilets too. There were many TVs with sports we loved.
They cooked in a fly in my burger, never went back. I can be more detailed here. I had ordered a mushroom swiss burger and when my burger arrived at my table I noticed a fried fly in my burger. I had the sever take it back to be remade. But knowing that a fly was cooked on the same place as the burger grossed me out. I didn't touch the remade burger but I did pay for the meal since the sever didn't even offer to take burger off my check.
Who doesn 't want to gorge themselves on burgers and beer? A straightforward concept. If only I listened to what the name of this restaurant was trying to tell me before I walked into it... When you dine at this Burgers and Beer outpost in the Imperial Valley Mall, you 'll get the sense that this is part of a large chain of restaurants due to the familiar bar and grill themes present that are common at TGI Friday 's, Chili 's, and similar restaurants. It was surprising to find the chain only had six locations total: five in eastern California, and one in Yuma, AZ. Given the uniforms, professionally made menus, and jigger pours of liquor, one can see that these guys have aspirations. I ordered the Mexicali Burger, which features a burger patty infused with cilantro, onion, and serrano chiles on a crispy buttered 'n grilled bun with lettuce and tomato. Based on the suggestion of my waitress, I ordered the optional pepperjack cheese, which melts over the reasonably juicy burger patty. Overall, this is a B+ burger. The bun here really makes this thing sing. The Taco Del Real, on the other hand, was awful. For a restaurant chain based in southeastern California, I 'm surprised they got tacos so wrong. It is more tex mex, in that the machaca advertised in this taco is actually just ground beef in chili powder, tomato flavorings, and cumin pretty much the same thing you get from tacos at Chili 's, and depressingly close to what Taco Bell serves. The meat mixture was significantly oversalted, and the weak, floppy corn tortilla was most definitely not made in house. I used the hot sauce on the side to try to help me force it down, but it wasn 't happening. Be smarter than me: avoid the tacos, order the burgers and beer.
My wife and I ordered 2 burgers and fries and waited for over 40 minutes watching other tables get their food who had ordered after us. Our waiter said 10 more minutes and after that he tries to tell us 5 more minutes. Service was horrible considering the restaurant was basically empty and none of the waiters could ask the cook why we were waiting for almost an hour for our food. We ended up just leaving, never coming back. Ridiculous experience.
Terrible service. Flies overwhelming the patio. Steamed vegetables are the square carrot, frozen bag variety. We waited nearly 10 minutes for the child 's meal to come because we always make the child 's order last . In what crazy world is a parent going to eat while their child has no food in front of them? So the rest of the food was lukewarm. Sauce on the burger was supposed to be on the side instead all of the toppings were brought in a cup. Which meant that while we waited for the child 's meal it became a cup shaped lump of cheese. More incorrect items were brought to our table than were correct items. At one point we were told a manger would be by; either he never came or it 's his first day and he had no idea what to do, including to identify himself as a manager. And since more than eleven people had been to our table with various nonsense we had no way of knowing. Overall one of the worst experiences in a restaurant. Ever. Update: The owner came over and kicked us out of the restaurant because we didn’t ask if we could review them on Yelp first. That’s right, when I asked if that was actually what he meant he said “yes”. You have to ask first, or they will ask you to leave if they don’t like it.
