The empanadas and chipas are great! I highly recommend this place : They take orders over WhatsApp and deliver them to you. No need for too much advance with the order, we placed ours the day before and they were able to deliver to us.

A truly extraordinary little home-run business. Laura is mother to a daughter with celiac and runs a strictly GF home. She knows how hard it is to find safe food when traveling and so she decided to contribute with this business. How do I know this? I was visiting from Toronto and I speak Spanish so I chatted with her for a bit when I picked up a meal for our family visiting El Calafate . I have Chilean and Argentinan grandparents parents and I am not GF so I know what empanadas should taste like. Laura’s are THE BEST empanada dough that I have tasted that is GF—extremely similar to the gluten original. The filling was also very tasty we tried the original beef filling . We also had the croissants “medialunas” and they are delicious. As with all GF doughs best served warm but we packed the remaining ones up as snacks and they were great cold too. Laura’s business caters to many hotels and hostels in the area to provide a GF breakfast option for guests. Our own hotel Amigos provided her medialunas half-moons, croissants as a break substitute in their breakfast. A must try in El Calafate.

I messaged Laura through WhatsApp and she had my empanadas ready very quickly! She is a cash only small business run out of her home. I got 2 meat and 1 ham and cheese empanada and 2 brownies. I would definitely eat these again, a great gluten free safe option if you have a craving for an empanada.
