Burros Fries Lemon Grove - El Cajon

Went in for breakfast at around 9am on a Monday Ordered the Chipotle Chilaquiles with a scrambled egg This was definitely a good choice . The only reason it wasn't a 5 star was that the beans and rice were a bit cold. But as good as the chilaquiles were it mad up for it. Will definitely come back and eat here maybe try lunch next time around.

Burrito was great. Service was good. The problem i have with this type of place is everything is so large. I split the burrito with my wife, cuz it was too much and the fries look really good but again too large so I didn't order. A burrito and a specialty fries is over 20 bucks! Way too much for a single person for lunch or dinner. Maybe i missed something?

I was feeling a bit adventurous and decided to order a grilled chicken bowl in a flour shell because I wanted something crunchy. Overall, it was a pretty good bowl and came with more ingredients than I had anticipated—perhaps even too many. It included chicken, beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, tomatoes, corn, onions, and sour cream. It was definitely generous, perfect for a big appetite. If I were to order it again, I would opt for black beans instead of refried beans to avoid the mushiness. We toasted with our refreshing mandarin Jarritos sodas and enjoyed our meal in the surprisingly quiet restaurant, as we were the only patrons at the time. Just before we left, a family came in to order and eat, perhaps we had arrived during a lull before dinner. No matter—the food was great, and I'm sure we will return since our granddaughter loves the tacos. The parking was convenient, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. I apologize for not taking a picture of the menu; I’ll make sure to do that next time!

I really don't want to discourage a new business, but I think there are some areas that could use improvement. Our drinks were diluted, and my burro was cold and watery, as if it had just come out of the fridge (see the photo). Even though there were only a few other customers, we had to wait 30 minutes. The veggie burro contained refried beans instead of the whole beans that were advertised. Additionally, there was bacon fat in the beans, despite my specific request for whole beans without lard, cheese, or sour cream.

I had the worst birria tacos I've ever ordered. I couldn't even bring myself to eat them—I lost my appetite just looking at them. They were pricey and lacked meat, the flavorful birria juice, and even the essential onions and cilantro. The chef definitely needs to be addressed about this. I used to be a loyal customer, but I guess they’ve lost another one. When they first opened, their food was fantastic, but their cooking has become really lazy!
