Alte Schule - Cafe Grill Bar - Eisenach

This seems to be a go-to place for locals. It was really busy when we arrived at 18.30 on Sunday evening. Nice starters, but things got worse from there. Underfilled, under flavoured ravioli, and burned schnitzel, after a 40 minute wait. The owner and one of the bar staff seem to want to always do every job, which means they're always running around and nothing gets done. Even when I reminded him, he had no recollection of my having asked for the bill. Food was expensive, and 5€ for a bottle of water is disgraceful. When I told them this, she just said it was shown on the menu. A meal for two with just water to drink came to 50€. Definitely not worth the money.

We had Tomahawk Steaks, which were really awesome! 1st class meat and taste!

The restaurant is overall okay. However, the food was quite salty. The calamari well cooked and the burger consisted of a generous portion, though the proportions of patty to bread were not the best. The service was good and friendly but it could be better. One of the waiter was a bit loud.

Nice place with delicious dishes. But not completely consistent. From the taste I think number two in Eisenach. There are deductions for cold plates (the food was then quite soon cold) and the missing toilet glasses in the toilet. Ceramic is quite cold if necessary. To this extent and overall, 4 stars are already the highest feelings and only the taste of the dishes. The staff is friendly and open.

A really nicely designed restaurant in central location of Eisenach. The dishes are diverse, so there is something really for everyone. It tastes great and is high quality. The prices are not without, but for the commandment. The service is friendly. But there are longer waiting times and without reservation it is almost impossible to get a table spontaneously.
